As many of you know, I’m a longtime supporter of public parks. LAUSD is one of the largest landowners in our city, but its schoolyards have for the most part generally been looked to the public after school and during summer vacations periods. As president of People for Parks I’ve had the honor of leading a very dedicated team that is working to open to our schoolyards during those periods as Community School Parks.  We’ve opened 11 new Community School Parks this year. If Measure A passes there will be a long range source of funding to enable LA County and its constituent cities and non-profits like People for Parks to expand and maintain our public park system. Please read how you can help.

Sincerely,

Larry Watts
